Description: Agar agar - a gelling powder of plant origin (galactose polymer), colorless, tasteless and odorless. Obtained from red algae Sphaerococcus euchema or the genus Gelidium. It gels below 40°C and dissolves only at 85°C. Agar powder is used in the same proportions and for the same purpose as powdered gelatin. Preparation: pour into water, stir and leave for 5 minutes, then boil and after boiling, continue to heat, stirring gently until it dissolves completely.
